![]() The Gears of War Netflix adaptations were first announced in November 2022. We couldn’t ask for a better partner to honor our franchise and deliver an authentic story to our fans.” “Jon is a master storyteller with a talent for creating epic science-fiction universes and he truly loves Gears of War. We’re thrilled to partner with Jon and the Netflix team to bring Gears of War to life,” the studio said in a statement. Spaihts will be working alongside current game developer stewards of the Gears franchise, The Coalition, which shared its own excitement about the collaboration. Netflix was also happy to have Spaihts on deck and is looking forward to what the writer comes up with for its Gears of War projects. Spaihts will work penning the screenplay for adapting the Gears of War series to a live-action movie for Netflix. “It wants to be cinema, and I’m thrilled to have the chance to help that happen. “Gears of War is one of the all-time great action games, with vivid characters, a beautifully designed world and a combat system that drives home the lethality of war and the importance of standing by your squadmates,” Spaihts said of the project. He will begin work immediately on penning the screenplay to help bring the Gears of War saga to film for Netflix, which has been planning a live-action film and also an animated series with the IP. Netflix announced Jon Spaihts’ hiring via a press release on the Netflix website on March 21, 2023. He also worked on the script for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus. Spaihts’ is most recently known for his work on screenplays for Doctor Strange and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune. Netflix made the announcement that it’s bringing Spaihts in as it gears up to bring one of the most celebrated video game franchises to proper film in the future. I dunno I am still divided if I will play this game longer then a week due to the difficulty I saw in the beta.It would seem that Netflix has hired academy-award nominated screenwriter Jon Spaihts to pen a script for its planned Gears of War film. But the beta itself played really solid and actually reminded me that this is how I wanted FF14 to be I dunno I am still divided if I will play this game longer then a week due to the difficulty I saw in the beta. I miiight try something like Barbarian tomorrow to see how it plays I feel like there needs to be a look at ranged attacks vs melee attacks though. I enjoyed my time there which should be enough to purchase it? The good thing is the game is so user friendly and plays really well. I closed the demo with 3 pieces of legendary which seems a lot for the time spent? Maybe because it is a beta the drop weight is larger? And while I enjoyed it I dunno if I enjoy it for 80 euros (free for sure in Gamepass) Only 1 real bossfight where I needed to give it more and almost died. But I played on the hardest difficulty possible with Sorcerer and archer and the game felt. And thanks for the people who said it is accessible because it is. I think I had loads of fun with the game. Total noob here to the series and genre in general. Such a shame, though I do expect we'll see tweaks by launch and improvements in follow-up seasons. I guess that they only came up with the Class ability now and it's so lackluster is telling that there's no passion or vision behind the class. The summons are all so terrible, it's baffling to think the point cost & skill slot would be worthwhile (even with legendary powers).Ĭonsidering it was one of the first 3 classes revealed and they then kept it hidden until now you'd think they'd have done more work into it. So many of the skills do nothing interesting (Basic Wolf & Bear skills should do more than just Damage without augments), don't synergize (There's over a dozen ways to apply Vulnerable but only 3 way to take advantage of it, and even then only passively for meager damage boosts) and aren't satisfying to use (middling range, high resource cost, limited impact). Played Druid to level 15 and it's absolutely terrible, and not just compared to the other classes who are more fleshed out, have unique identity, are fun to play and feel better balanced. It's a real shame there's seemingly no plans to support it on PC when the hardware can very easily handle it, they just don't have double battlenet account functionality and don't want you playing 2 characters from the same account at the same time (Which even on Consoles is lame). Don't like some of the extra UI indicators they add (P1/P2 over every interact and loot item and the giant bright circle under character models) which you can't change and the camera sometimes pulls away too far from a player but otherwise it works great. Tried Local Co-Op on PS5 today with my wife, and had a blast. ![]()
